Top 10 greatest women soccer players.


1.Mia Hamm: scored more international goals than any player in history - men or woman .And was the youngest player to play on the US Women's National Soccer team ,she helped the team take the gold medal home in the 1996 Olympics.She had 136 International appearances and 81 international goals.

2.Marta Da Silva:Plays for Brazil women's National Team ,she is the most talented
women's player of all time she has massive ball skills and tricks.Marta was chosen
as the player of the year award for the fifth time in the FIFA Cup.She has scored eighty goals in 72 international appearances





      




 3.Birgit Prinz: Payed for Germany Women's National Team .Led Germany women to Women's World Cup titles in 2003 and 2007.She was the first player to be nominated player of the year not named Mia Hamm by FIFA.Birgit still holds the record of most women's world cup goals at 14
(tied with Marta).She had 214 International appearances and 128 goals.Retired in 2011.









 4.Sun Wen: Played for the Chinese Women National Team;Won the Golden Boot and Golden Ball as top scorer and best player in the the year 1999,also named women's Co-player of the century by FIFA. She retired in the year 2006 ,Scoring  106 goals in 152 international appearances.










5.Homare Sawa : Plays for Japan Women's National Team.She gained international fame a the leader of Japan's run to the 2011 women's world cup title.Earning the Golden Ball as the tournament's best player,beating Marta for the FIFA women's world player of the year award in January 2012.Scoring 80 goals in 176 appearances in Japan.






6.Abby Wambach: Currently playing for the US Women's National team .Lead the United States to the 2011 World Cup.She will always be remembered for the .In the yer late,desperate equalizer against Brazil.In the years to Come ,She could be higher on the list.Scoring 134 goals in 173 appearances,and also a  5 time winner of the US soccer athlete of the year award.





 7.Cristiane Rozeira de Souza Silva : Plays for Brazil's Women National Team ,Finished third in the FIFA world player in the year 2007-08. Even-though she did not get to win player of the year ,her and her club Santos won the Copa Libertadores,the Budesliga with FFC Tubine -Potsdam and a medal with Brazil at the 2007 World Cup. In 45 international appearances scored 31 goals.







8.Renate Lingor: Played for the German Women's Soccer Team . Renate was the midfield general for Germany's 2003 and 2007 women's World Cup winning teams.She claimed 2 World Cup winner medals,5 German League titles and 5 German Cup crowns during her 12 year professional career. Even-though  she did  not score as many goals as the rest on the list she influenced many games.She only scored a short 35 goals in a long 147 international caps.







9.Hanna Ljungberg: Played for Sweden's Women's National Team.Whom finished in third in the FIFA World Cup.Scoring 72 goals in her career that lasted from 1996-2008.She was a vital member of the team that finished 2nd  at the 2003 women's world Cup.







10. Kelly Smith :Played for England's Women's National Soccer Team.Kelly won hand-fulls of silverware during her career with the club Arsenal.She initiated with England National Team  at 17 years old in the year 1995.She scored 45 goals in 111 international Matches.

Why did I choose this topic?

 History of women soccer is my topic because soccer is my passion.The sport is fascinating and I admire the hard work of all the young women who work hard everyday to improve themselves and improve the sport and how people think of us ,as what woman can do and accomplish.

history of womens' soccer


 Women' soccer started in Europe.The urban form of soccer set by the Foot Ban Association in 1863 in London.It was a male sport played by all ages of men.

In Scotland and parts of England their were soccer matches between married and unmarried women during the late nineteenth century .Women became more interested in the sport that by the early 20th century. Women played  in different parts of Great Britain ,France and Canada.

The first biggest match was in England biggest soccer ground where Dick,Kerr ladies played with a lancaishire team,They were called the St.Helen a crowd of 53,000 people.

In 1912 the headquarters of football association in London set a ban on women for playing soccer for a period of fifty long years.How ever in Italy and France established a woman's league in the early 1930's.
After world war II the number of women playing increased establishing its national association in 1950 and Germany didn't stay back there organized the first informal women  European countries that took part in it were Norway and Sweden.Once the ban was lifted almost 35 countries had their own national leagues and international competition grew.

After wards  in 1951 soccer in the U.S the first woman's league was established and things changed from then on. Their was a soccer club called the Craig Club Girls Soccer League,It had four teams and played complete schedules for two seasons.It took decades before soccer was included as a serious game in college.

In the beginning of the 20th century saw U.S women soccer gain high popularity .The US made a last start-up with Europe .They were being compared with Europe.Europe has had a women league way before the US since the 1930's.

Organized and serious form of soccer in the US started in the 1970's.Produced by Title lX Legislation of 1972.
